Buses
Stagecoach is the main bus operator in Fife. Generally bikes are not permitted on standard buses. They are usually allowed on coaches that have proper facilities for storing luggage storage.
Does your bike fold up? If it can fit in the luggage pen and you can lift it in and out yourself, you can bring it on the bus. Check Stagecoach’s conditions of carriage for full details.
Trains
Scotrail runs most of the trains that run in or through Fife. You’ll find designated cycle spaces on all of their trains. The majority of services have non-reservable cycle spaces. These are available on a first come first served basis and you should bear this in mind when travelling at peak times.
Learn more about what types of bike you can and can’t take on the train and when you may need to book a cycle space on the Scotrail website.
