Fix a flat & basic bike checks

Fix a flat & basic bike checks

Event Information

Learn how to fix a flat tyre on your bike so you can have the skills to make the fix at home or mid ride.

Starting with the basics’ you will be hands on removing and re-installing the wheel/s on your bike. We will then run through removing the tyre and inner tube and how to check for what caused the puncture, allowing you to repair the tube or to prevent another puncture from happening. A run through of the common causes will be demonstrated during the session.

Before going out on a ride, doing an M-Check is a great way to test your bike to make sure that it is in safe mechanical order before you go for a ride.

During this session, we will demonstrate how to carry out this simple but vital check in a fun and informative way to help you get the most out of your bike and prevent any unexpected mechanicals.

This course is run by qualified mechanical staff at Lang Toun Cycles.

No mechanical experience is needed.

Tea, coffee and water will be provided

Ideally, you should bring along your own bike or, if you like you can use one of our provided bikes. We will provide the required tools, protective equipment and work stands.

You will have the opportunity to purchase tools.

Please wear clothing you do not mind getting dirty as you will be dealing with grease and grime. Aprons and gloves will also be provided.
