FCCAN Networking event in Burntisland: What is the Big Green Market?
Event Information
You are invited by Fife Communities Climate Action Network (FCCAN) to join us for a networking event in Burntisland, hosted by the Big Green Market team.
So what is the Big Green Market? A community of volunteers coming together to run popular pre-loved monthly markets, a workshop programme and a Repair Café!
Come find out how Burntisland has come together to take very practical action to reduce its carbon footprint and meet the needs of the community.
We’ll start with a short presentation from the BGM Co-ordinators which will give us some background on the Big Green Market, the ‘fun’ involved in launching a community market with strict Covid restrictions in place, building and sustaining a community of volunteers, their workshops programme, the Repair Café and more, including… what next for the Big Green Market?
We will then have a simple upcycling activity for you to try your hand at so you can take away your own creation, diverting resources from landfill and hopefully a new activity to try with your own group. All materials will be provided.
The event will take place at the Salvation Army Hall in Burntisland.
Refreshments
Refreshments will be served during the course of the morning.

What are FCCAN networking events?
FCCAN networking events are for representatives of any Fife community group, charity, community council, development trust etc, who are taking action on the climate or biodiversity crisis, or who would like to get involved. Our networking events share learning and inspiration and can lead to new partnerships and projects. Just bring along your curiosity and ideas!
