Fife Climate Knowhow (Full day)

Fife Climate Knowhow (Full day)

Event Information

Understanding the climate emergency is a vital component in reducing carbon emissions, and will become an increasingly important factor in keeping the workforce employable. Scotland’s employees will need to be appropriately skilled to address both the climate emergency and changes to working practices that Scotland’s businesses and public and third sector employers will need to adopt going forward.

The Fife Climate Knowhow training is delivered by the Climate Action Fife project which brings together individuals, communities, local government, and businesses to tackle the climate emergency and make Fife a greener and fairer place to live.

In the morning session participants do a ‘Climate Fresk’. Here, the participants work as a team to find the cause and effect relationships between 42 climate cards: using the cards to build a collage that explains climate change.

The afternoon the session focusses on impacts in Scotland, adaptation and action, and how to talk about climate change.

Participants will find out:

  • What are the major contributors to climate change
  • The impacts of the climate emergency on quality of life, safety and health globally, nationally and in Fife
  • What we can do collectively to change the way we work and live to tackle the climate emergency

Part of the session will include personal climate literacy accreditation, awarded to individuals by the Carbon Literacy Project. This personal accreditation will become increasingly important to workforces in the future, and helps organisations on the way to achieving accreditation as a Carbon Literate Organisation.
