Climate Friendly Gardens – fruit tree grafting workshop

Event Information

Learn how to graft apple trees with fruit tree expert Andrew Lear, Appletreeman.

Andrew is highly experienced with wide ranging expertise. He puts 40 years of horticultural knowledge into practice by teaching and advising orchard groups and owners throughout Scotland, and propagating heritage varieties of fruit.

This workshop takes place in the Boiler House and the Conservation Glasshouse in St Andrews Botanic Garden.

This event is suitable for beginners. This event will be partly indoors but please wear suitable outdoor clothing for the weather.

Strong gardening gloves are recommended. Equipment will be provided but bring your own secateurs and grafting knife if you have them.

Please bring a packed lunch, we will eat indoors in the Boiler Room.

Coffee/tea and snacks are included in workshop.

This event is free to attend but booking is required. Please email Gillian at PLANT to secure your place.

Accessibility Information

Paths through the Botanic Garden are mostly flat and metalled or grass. There is accessible car parking and toilets available. There is also a wheelchair loan available.
